An accomplished communications professional, you will provide exceptional support to a vibrant Communications team in writing, editing, and co-ordinating various products and programs, with a particular emphasis on the College’s flagship magazine, Professionally Speaking/Pour parler profession.

Regular Position, Category 7 - Salary Range $71,069 - $94,531

Responsibilities:
• Write, edit, manage and provide support for various communications projects
• Work with other staff, freelance writers, copy editors, designers and videographers while adhering to unit budgets

• Reporting to Professionally Speaking’s Managing Editor, provide support including, but not limited to:
o writing, editing and proofreading magazine news, features and captions
o liaising with staff, writers, designers, printer and other suppliers
o planning editorial content for designated sections
o identifying suitable subjects for Great Teaching, Remarkable Teacher, Pop Quiz and Final Exam departments
o assisting Digital Media team with development of online magazine version and social media promotion
o helping to co-ordinate editorial content and advertising for the Editorial Board’s quarterly review
o distributing proofs for review
o attending Editorial Board meetings and liaising with committee members to secure content approval
o helping to generate creative concepts for magazine packaging and art treatment
o working with photographers and designers to ensure design, illustrations and photos align with College's brand identity and style guidelines
o co-ordinating translation of articles for Pour parler profession
o liaising with sales representatives about advertising content and proofing promotional mailers
o handling occasional theme packages and special issues as assigned
o preparing submissions to awards programs
o filling in for Managing Editor as required

• Oversee quarterly production of Great Teaching videos
• Perform other work as assigned by the Manager of Communications or designate
• Oral and written French-language fluency is an asset for this position as is a working knowledge of Adobe Cloud InCopy.
