Forbes joins the journalist entrepreneur bandwagon

The journalist as entrepreneur is a trend that’s been identified as key development heading into 2021 and beyond, and now Forbes has announced a new paid newsletters platform for its writers.

Journalist Entrepreneurs is a new platform that lets writers launch their own paid newsletters under the Forbes brand and generate their own revenue, which they can split with the magazine.

The pub, which will retain the writers on staff, will distribute, market and manage the platform and give writers editorial, marketing and support functions.

Paid newsletters have gained momentum over the past year, with services like Substack, offering platforms for writers to go it alone.
